SIQA Verified App - Privacy Policy

SIQA Verified is made by The Sonic Intelligence Academy, Inc. ("SIQA"). This policy describes what the app does and doesn't do with your information. The short version: SIQA Verified has no accounts, no ads, no tracking, and collects no personal data.
Microphone & audio
The microphone is active only while you run a scan. Audio is processed by Apple's ShazamKit framework to identify the song. Raw audio is never sent to SIQA's servers, and SIQA never receives, stores, or has access to your recordings. Microphone access is controlled by you in iOS Settings at all times.
What the app sends to SIQA
After a song is identified, the app sends only the recognized song's metadata (title, artist, and ISRC) to the SIQA Verified Registry to check its registration status. If you tap "Recommend it for review," the same song metadata is sent to SIQA's review queue. These requests are not linked to your identity: the app has no accounts, and no name, email, contact, or advertising identifier is collected or transmitted.
Like most internet services, SIQA's servers may temporarily process standard technical information (such as IP address) to operate and protect the service, including rate limiting. This information is not used to identify or profile you.
What stays on your device
Your scan history ("Recently Discovered") is stored only on your device. It is never uploaded, and deleting the app deletes it.
Third-party services
Song identification uses Apple's ShazamKit, and release information uses Apple's MusicKit catalog; both are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Links you choose to open (Apple Music, the SIQA registry website) take you to those services under their own terms.
Tracking, ads, and data sales
SIQA Verified contains no advertising, no analytics SDKs, no cross-app tracking, and SIQA does not sell or share personal information. There is nothing to opt out of, because nothing is collected.
Children
SIQA Verified does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this page with a new effective date.
