Pup Xander

Pup Xander is an independent British audio-visual artist living in the Yorkshire Dales, creating emotionally-charged electronic music shaped by influences from Kraftwerk, OMD and The Human League to Pet Shop Boys, Hi-NRG, techno, ambient soundscapes and modern dancefloor energy. What began in recovery from major surgery in 2025 evolved into an unconventional creative world where music, lyrics and visual storytelling meet. Moving freely between euphoric electronic pop, club music, experimentation and more atmospheric territory, Pup Xander explores queer experience, vulnerability, melancholy, humour, intimacy, connection and joy – sometimes all at once. Their lyrics are at times autobiographical, exploring life with disabilities and bereavements, acknowledging feelings and struggles people may experience in isolation and find hard to talk about. Strongly influenced by the inclusive pupplay/petplay community, Pup Xander creates for outsiders, romantics, dancers, overthinkers and anyone who has ever wanted to feel seen. The work is playful about genre and serious about human connection, embracing new technologies and creative tools while remaining driven by personal experience, artistic choices and an intensely individual point of view. Self-directed and proudly unconventional, Pup Xander has found a global audience through music, visual storytelling, community and a refusal to smooth off stranger edges for mainstream approval.
